A dental clinic in Istanbul for people already in the city
Not everyone who needs a dentist in Istanbul has flown in for a smile makeover. Many of our English-speaking patients live here: people working for international companies, university students, retired couples who spend part of the year in Turkey, and families who have moved for a few years. Others are on holiday or a business trip when a tooth starts to ache.
For all of them the needs are the same. You want to explain the problem in a language you are comfortable with, understand what the dentist proposes and why, and know the cost before treatment begins. We give you a written plan after the examination, and you are free to take time to think about it.
Emergency dentist in Istanbul: toothache, lost crowns and broken teeth
If you have a dental problem while in Istanbul, message us on WhatsApp at +90 544 835 52 61 during opening hours, Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 19:00. Send a short description and, if possible, a photo. We will tell you whether you should come in the same day and fit you in where we can.
We are not a 24-hour service. Here is what you can do in the meantime for common problems:
- Toothache: take an over-the-counter painkiller you know you tolerate, following the packet instructions, and avoid very hot, cold or sweet food. Don't place aspirin against the gum, as it can burn the tissue.
- Lost crown or veneer: keep it safe in a small container and bring it with you. Often it can be cleaned and re-cemented if the tooth underneath is sound. Avoid chewing on that side.
- Broken or chipped tooth: rinse with warm water, keep any fragments and cover sharp edges with sugar-free chewing gum or dental wax from a pharmacy.
- Knocked-out adult tooth: hold it by the crown, not the root, keep it moist in milk and get to a dentist as soon as possible. Time matters with this one.
Facial swelling that is spreading, difficulty swallowing or breathing, a high temperature or an injury to the jaw are medical emergencies. In those cases go straight to a hospital emergency department or call 112, Turkey's emergency number, whatever the time.
What we treat
Our five dentists cover most everyday and specialist dental care under one roof:
- Check-ups, scaling and polishing, and tooth-coloured fillings
- Root canal treatment for infected or badly decayed teeth
- Wisdom tooth removal and other extractions
- Gum treatment, crowns, bridges, dentures and dental implants
- Cosmetic work such as whitening, bonding and veneers
- Braces and clear aligners for teenagers and adults
- Children's dentistry, from first check-ups to fillings
If you are in Istanbul for a longer period, it can make sense to plan larger treatment in stages that fit around work or study. Our dentists will explain which steps are urgent and which can wait.
Routine check-ups if you live in Istanbul
Living abroad makes it easy to let dental check-ups slip, especially if you only see your old dentist on visits home. Small problems like early decay or gum inflammation are simple to treat when caught early and much harder once they cause pain. Most adults benefit from a check-up and professional clean every six to twelve months, though your dentist may suggest a different interval depending on your gums and history.
If you have treatment records from your home country, bring them along or send them in advance. Previous X-rays help us compare and avoid unnecessary new images.
How to book an appointment
The quickest way is WhatsApp: +90 544 835 52 61. Tell us your name, what the problem is and which days suit you. You can also email info@beyazgulus.com or use the form on our contact page.
Your first visit includes a free examination and any X-rays needed for diagnosis. If treatment is required, you receive a written plan with the cost. Nothing is started without your agreement, apart from immediate pain relief if you ask for it.
